Hi Sydney,
Nice to have you back :)
My question is about linking my sites together. If I have sites A, B, C and D all residing on different servers, do you think it would be OK to have one-way links in A, B, C all pointing to D?
All the sites are registered with the same registrar and have the same contact information.
Thanks,
Willie

Sorry, I placed this in the wrong category - meant to put it in "Everything Else".

As long as you aren't doing anything under handed yes it should be fine. We link to sites on the same C block like CyberWS.com to AuctionKnowHow.com and Google doesn't seem to care. Of course we also link to sites that aren't in the same C block, data center, etc.
Where this is matters a lot more is for people doing under handed (black hat) tactics.

Willie, if you are linking from Willie Site #1 to Willie Site #2, you will get credit for the link - but of course it won't be as powerful as it would be if your link was from someone else. The Black Hat linking came from is Michael Campbell's classic Revenge Of The Mininet. He hid the ownership of sites so that they don't seem to be owned by you and therefore the links counted more heavily. Lots of people did that - including us - but it's very complicated and I found it very easy to make mistakes. Today, with all the social bookmarking sites, I don't see any point in it. Anyway, it's the SEs that called it derogatory names like 'black hat', 'underhanded', 'immoral', etc. They're just SE rules - it's not like robbing a little old lady of her last dollar.
