View Full Version : New adsense guidelines
Has anybody experienced being penalised by Google with regards to their new adsense recomendations.
Ads shouldn't be placed under a title or section heading in a way that implies that the ads are not ads.
Ads should be easily distinguishable from surrounding content.
You can read it here:

Has anybody been affected by this?
Cheers

I don't think it's really an issue if you're following Sydney's recommendations on the page layouts etc. I think what they don't want is for you to use a headline like this:
=========================
"Here Are The Best Hairloss Remedies on the Web"
(here are the Adsense Ads)
This is your content. This is your content. This is your content. This is your content. This is your content. This is your content. This is your content. This is your content....
=========================
That headline makes it look like the Adsense ads are a list of the best hairloss remedies on the web instead of ads. I think that's what Google is trying to keep you from doing.
I think if you keep an eye on your headlines you're probably OK. A better headline than the one above might be "Tips for Finding the Best Hairloss Remedies on the Web". That way, you're not really implying that the ads are anything but an advertisement.
That's how I'm looking at their guidelines. If anyone has a different perspective, I'd be interested in hearing it.

The one thing I did in response to their updated guidelines was modify my privacy policies. I think there might already be a discussion about that somewhere on this board, but I don't remember. If you can't find it, you can do a google search for "google adsense privacy policy sample". You should find plenty of examples to use.
