I signed up for evoice and received my first message from a wholesale supplier. It works great. I have an email sent to me notifying me of a message, then I can call back when I am ready.
I emailed about 40 suppliers on Monday and have received 12 emails back. I will keep working on this, I have set up a data file to keep records of who I have sent inquiries to. I see that this flood can get a bit overwhelming with out good records. Donna

Andrea:
I haven't gotten to the point of setting up a fax and voice mail service, but I appreciate you taking the time to share this information. Your willingnesses to extend a helping hand and share information with us on this topic and others is greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hey, thanks, Travis! The way I see it, we are all in this together. So, I think each of us should share whatever resources we have freely with each other. It's the whole synergy thing -- all of us together can be much more powerful than each of us trying to do things individually. Any and all of you, please feel free to contact me via email for any of the resources I've offered on the forum, or for no reason at all!! I promise I will respond.
Thanks again!!!

Hi, Donna
I'm glad that you found eVoice to be a valuable service! Since I had a less than favorable experience with another division of the company, eFax, I thought I would also post a couple of low-budget alternatives. Note these are not affiliate links. I've just received good customer service and an overall positive experience with these companies. Your own experience may be better or worse. I can't vouch for that. Sometimes it's just a matter of finding the right "fit".
The first company is Skype. You can make VOIP calls anywhere in the US for $0.03/minute. Their international rates are also very attractive. You are able to set up a voice mail for 15 euros (somewhere around $18 USD) for a twelve month subscription. Skype also offers this service for free with what is called a "Skype-In" number, which is a telephone number local to your area that people may call using a regular telephone. I have not investigated this feature, but plan to do so in the next couple of weeks. I have nothing buy positive things to say about Skype. Their sound quality is awesome. I have yet to have a dropped call and the interface is very intuitive and user-friendly. I noticed on their website that they just introduced free video calling. What a neat feature!
The other service that I can highly recommend is called Send2Fax. This is similar to eFax, but IMHO, vastly superior. They have a range of plans to fit your budget, and, unlike eFax, I have not found them to charge me for spam faxes to run up the monthly fee. This is a great, great service for those who do not have a dedicated fax machine and need to send/receive occasional faxes. You can even install a small app on your desktop that allows you to send faxes directly from your email client.
I hope that you find these useful. Here are the links for the two services:
