View Full Version : Mass Article Submission - Google Penalty

One of my KW was ranked 50th in Google after one iSnare submission.
However, I realized it drops down to 300th after 2 weeks.
I'm wondering how effective is mass article submission in terms of getting backlinks nowadays because Google will filter duplicate content pretty quickly.

If that is the case, what other link building technique is good for us in the long run?

I have stated repeatedly that it's not a Google PENALTY - but a Google filter. There is a huge difference! What you've mentioned is very common. Often new sites will get a position, then drop down - and then settle back in at a relatively stable spot (unless more work is done on the site). Also, I've been tracking my submission links for years and that always happens ... you get 994 links at first, which then drops to 201 (imaginary numbers, of course) after Google filters out some content. It's normal and to be expected.

Yes, there are other ways to get links but they're:

1. A lot more expensive in terms of both money & time
2. A lot more complicated
3. Not very practical if you're focusing on building a new site every week

Once again, this is a NUMBERS game. My advice is to stop worrying about individual sites and keep rolling forward. I've been using this method for years and am continuing to use directory submissions, article directories & eBay. If these methods cease to work, I will be the first one to let WP members know. If you're interested in other ways of getting links, we'll be happy to hear of your results but it's outside the scope of the WP.

Yes. Some call this the "honeymoon" period that Googles often times gives to a fairly new site.
